New Practice

When I am going to say something that isn't gentle, humble, kind or encouraging... WAIT.
Read the following scriptures from your card.
If you need to talk about it later, indicate that, peacefully.
If it is important, jot it down in the family book so you don't forget to go address it.
Work through the moment on your own when you have time.
Take your time. Pray. Write. Consider all things.
THEN, and only then, chose your response.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. - Ephesians 4:2

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. - Philippians 4:8
